The Castlepollard Town Team was formed in February 2024. One of the objectives of the team was to inform and support the development of the Castlepollard Town Centre First Plan.

The analysis of the information from the public consultation process has informed a strategy of guiding principles developed to inform the possibilities and concepts for community projects across Castlepollard. Five of these projects have been prioritised by the Community for progression and funding applications. These projects are summarised in this report.

Priorities include:

1.Shift the emphasis from vehicles to people.
2.Improve pavement condition and accessibility.
3.Introduce better traffic calming at approach roads.
4.Provide more amenities and repurpose vacant sites.
5.Improve signage and strengthen way-finding.
6.Reuse vacant and derelict properties.
7.Support local enterprise and boost tourism.
8.Protect heritage, green spaces and biodiversity.
9.Make the Square a central focus for people and events.
